You Are Never Too Old for Show and Tell
By Natalie Hawley
Looking for something fun to do in Kansas City this weekend? Invite your friends and family to Union Station this Saturday and Sunday, June 28–29, to experience the “greatest show (and tell) on Earth” — the Maker Faire. Over 1,000 makers will set up booths to showcase inventions, crafts, art, robots, design and other projects. The event is a celebration of the Maker Movement and offers entertainment, information and connectivity throughout the community. Booths will open Saturday at 10 a.m., with presentations by local and national speakers in addition to special performances, demonstrations and workshops.
With over 350 booths to browse the Maker Faire has fun for all ages. Kids will love the rockets, robots, science demonstrations and organized activities. Parents can enjoy live music, speakers and artisan foods. The Maker Faire is your chance to celebrate inspiration, creativity and the community. Be sure to stop by the LocalStart.org – Made in Kansas City section of the faire, where you can learn about supporting local businesses and buy locally made products.
